We are honored and excited to announce that Jen has been selected as a Kerrville New Folk Finalist again this year!  No longer a Kerrvirgin, Jen is ready to be Welcomed Home by the great folks who have made Kerrville a legendary Folk Fest for 40 years!

 

Jen is honored to announce that she has been selected for the Rocky Mountain Folks Fest Songwriter Showcase!

Congratulations to Jen on being selected as one of the 32 finalists for Kerrville New Folk. This is a VERY BIG DEAL in the folk world, and Jen is "honored beyond belief". Jen wants to congratulate her fellow finalists, especially long-time pals Annie & Rod Capps! Jen performs on Sunday, May 30th!

Due to events beyond my control, I will be unable to attend SMAF this year. Keep watching, though, because life is getting pretty interesting 'round here.

Jen has been selected to perform two of her new songs in the 2010 Susquehanna Music and Arts Festival (SMAF) Songwriting Contest!  If you're anywhere near Havre De Grace, MD, mark your calendar for Mother's Day Weekend!

Jen's song "Cannonball Girl", from the upcoming CD, has been selected as a finalist in the 2010 Indiegrrl Songwriting Competition.  Winners will be announced on April 30th!

Congratulations to Jen on her Detroit Music Award nomination for "Best Country Vocalist".  And a special congrats to Jason Fisher (Jen's bass player) for his nomination in the "Live Sound Technician" category  Good luck Jen & Jason!

Jen and longtime producer John Jennings convened in Virginia at the beginning of February to start recording Jen's fourth CD, "Cannonball Girl", which we hope to release in June (Yes, June!). With Snowmageddon looming, we hunkered down to record the first three tracks, packing up to leave as the first snow began falling. We were so happy with the rough mixes we decided to play them for you here at jencass.com!

Jen proudly announces the kick-off of her concert series, First Friday Folk, which benefits the Bay Area Women's Center.  First up - Greg Greenway on Friday, January 8, 2010! 

After nearly 13 years on the Folk Circuit, playing top venues and festivals throughout the country, Jen is about to realize one of her lifelong dreams.  This Fall, Jen will join Sonny Ochs, Greg Greenway, John Flynn and many others as a member of the Remembering Phil Ochs Song Nights family!  Check out the schedule page for a show near you!

Accidental Pilgrimage is the longest running album on the Roots Music Folk Chart with 139 weeks in the Top 50 and counting!  Thanks to Folk DJs everywhere for keeping AP on the charts for TWO AND A HALF YEARS!  Wanna see the whole chart?  Go Here

Jen is thrilled to announce that she will join Jewel, Chris Cagle, Josh Gracin, Trisha Yearwood and many more at the WYCD Hoedown this year! Jen will be playing on the Acoustic Stage on Friday afternoon. More details coming soon!!!

Come on out Sat. January 19th and catch Jen, along with Scott Baker, Jamie-Sue Seal and many others, at the 1st Annual Bay City Folk & Acoustic Music Festival! The fest takes place at Bemo's in Bay City (701 S. Madison) at 8pm. Jen plays around 11pm. Hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Jen for being selected to showcase at NERFA this year!  Jen will be a part of the TriCentric showcases as well as the Thursday night FolkDJ showcase.  Jen will also join her good friend Joe Jencks in leading the Phil Ochs Song Night in the Showcase Free Zone on Saturday Night!  SO...come one come all.  It will be a BLAST! www.nerfa.org!

Jen is proud to announce that she will be performing at a special concert to honor Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Mike Pernaselli and Rochester, New York's many fallen soldiers, and benefit the Rochester area Veterans Outreach Center. See the schedule page for more information!

Jen would like to thank Dan and everyone else at Wheatland, as well as co-performers Drew Nelson, Jen Sygit and Ralston Bowles, for a wonderful Michigan Songwriters in the Round show at Wheatland this year!  We can't wait for next year in Remus!

Jen took home several Review Music Awards this year, including Best Country Vocalist, Best Blues Vocalist, and Best Country Songwriter.  Congratulations to Jen and her band on a great year!

Congratulations to Jen and hubby AJ on the birth of their second child!  Danny was born at 2:15am on May 3, 2007.  He was 8 pounds 5 ounces and 20.5 inches long.  Jen, AJ, Danny and big sister Julia are all happy, excited and doing very well!  

Jen took home the big prize at the 2007 Detroit Music Awards last night when "Accidental Pilgrimage" was named OUTSTANDING ACOUSTIC/FOLK RECORDING OF THE YEAR!  We want to thank everyone who worked on the album, the Motor City Music Foundation, and everyone who voted this year!  Jen is thrilled to be a DMA winner!
